               Discuss various types of comedy 

                 The word Comedy is generally use for a kind of pray which ends happily. A genuine comedy has the atmosphere of mirth with sparkling fun thought the play. Comedies have been written sense time in memorial among the ancients Aristophanes, Plautus and Terence were the master comedy inspire many followers. Mender, Moliere, Shakespeare and Ben Johnson are the modern of comedy.

          According to the different technique and things employed by the comedy writers; comedies can roughly be divided into following types;

A Classical Comedy


      






          Classical comedy is rule bounds. It’s models are the classical writers like Plautus, Terence and Aristophanes.

The most important rules are:

o Observation of Three unities of Time, Place and Action.
o Thoroughly comic inspirit.
o Realism: It deals with the everyday familiar like of ordinary people.
o Its aim is corrective and satiric some human folly weakness or social vice are exposed and ridiculed. The most prominent writer of these types is Ben Johnson and Elizabethan Age. 

Romantic Comedy


          The Shakespearean is romantic inspire of national test and does not bother about the rules of composition. There is free mixture mingling of the comic and the tragic characters and the insider.





   Example-
         “A Mid Summer Night’s Dream”

    Its aim is not corrective or satiric but innocent, good natures laughter foliage are no doubt, exposed and redacted but the laughter is gender and sympathetic and there is no moral indignation be lash with people and not at them.                  “A midsummer night’s dream”

The Comedy of Humors

      Ben Johnson comedy classical realistic and satirical is also called comedy of humors. In this comedy each character is the representation of some “Humor’s that some master passion which governs all his action. The characters are type the local is familiar the purpose of the writer is to satires the fogies and foibles. The weaknesses and vices of contemporary society the satire is generally very brutal.
The Comedy of Manners





                In the restoration age, there nourished a new genre of comedy called “Comedy Of Manners”. The comedy of manners are reflects the culture of the upper classes in which manners are supreme. It a deal with the galleries intrigues and affection of fashionable men and women, its plot is made of love intrigues. Its dialogues and scene are sometimes immoral and induced this type of comedy became more popular duty witty dialogues. The background of this comedy is generally London, parks, trees, fashionable lady’s, drawing room or coffee house,  Wycherley, catheterize were the pioneers and it attend it’s perfection in the Handy of Congreve.
Farce

   Farce is law kind of comedy which seeks to provide boisterous lighter by the use of observes characters, situation and dialogue. It is characterized by degradation, extra dangers and there is much indeed that is mealy monsoons.   
                Many comedy writers have introduced these farcical elements in there comedies to serve the groundings.

Tragic- Comedy or Dark Comedy








               In such comedy tragic or serious problem are presented in the beginning but in ends happily, the ending is happy. 

             An unhappy for others serious expects at the beginning created gloom in the comedy, such comedy sometimes deal with the grave problems of morality like

     “Shakespeare’s Measure for Measure”     
  The problem here: what is more important, purity of soul or body of comedy?

Other example from Modern drama can be of Samuel’s Bucket’s“Waiting for Godot”
Harold Pinter’s- “The Birthday Party”

          Thus, comedy is one of the generous dramas. It deals with many factors like moral, satirical, entertainment, social etc. The main aim of comedy is to make readers and society aware of its real sere and meaning in literature.
